Es Doctor en Ciencias Biol\u00f3gicas por la Universidad de M\u00e1laga, con <strong data-start=\"705\" data-end=\"743\">Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"746\" data-end=\"1194\">Su formaci\u00f3n investigadora incluye una etapa <strong data-start=\"791\" data-end=\"806\">predoctoral<\/strong> centrada en la <strong data-start=\"822\" data-end=\"886\">anatom\u00eda, patolog\u00eda y embriolog\u00eda del sistema cardiovascular. Adem\u00e1s de <\/strong>estancias en las universidades de <strong data-start=\"926\" data-end=\"936\">Padova<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"939\" data-end=\"952\">\u00c1msterdam<\/strong>. Posteriormente realiz\u00f3 una prolongada etapa <strong data-start=\"998\" data-end=\"1014\">postdoctoral<\/strong> en el <strong data-start=\"1021\" data-end=\"1062\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research. All\u00ed <\/span><\/span><\/strong>desarroll\u00f3 investigaci\u00f3n en <strong data-start=\"1098\" data-end=\"1153\">angiog\u00e9nesis, arteriog\u00e9nesis y crecimiento vascular<\/strong> utilizando <strong data-start=\"1165\" data-end=\"1193\">modelos murinos mutantes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1196\" data-end=\"1714\">Tras su regreso a la Universidad de M\u00e1laga mediante el <strong data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1317\">Programa de Retorno de Investigadores de la Junta de Andaluc\u00eda<\/strong>, consolid\u00f3 una l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n en <strong data-start=\"1359\" data-end=\"1419\">embriolog\u00eda y etiolog\u00eda de enfermedades cardiovasculares<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1421\" data-end=\"1439\">arteriog\u00e9nesis<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1441\" data-end=\"1459\">aterosclerosis<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1461\" data-end=\"1481\">modelos animales<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1484\" data-end=\"1518\">anatom\u00eda comparada del coraz\u00f3n<\/strong>. Desde 2008 impulsa una <strong data-start=\"1543\" data-end=\"1572\">colaboraci\u00f3n traslacional<\/strong> con el \u00c1rea del Coraz\u00f3n del Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Victoria para el estudio de <strong data-start=\"1665\" data-end=\"1713\">patolog\u00edas valvulares, a\u00f3rticas y coronarias<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1716\" data-end=\"1959\">Es Investigador Responsable del grupo <strong data-start=\"1754\" data-end=\"1800\">\u201cEstudios Cardiovasculares en Vertebrados\u201d<\/strong> del PAIDI y lidera el grupo A-17 de IBIMA.
