Desarrolla tambi\u00e9n una intensa labor docente como Profesor Titular del Departamento de Medicina y Dermatolog\u00eda de la Facultad de Medicina de la <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Universidad de M\u00e1laga<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"877\" data-end=\"1143\">Adem\u00e1s, en el \u00e1mbito cient\u00edfico e institucional, ha sido Presidente de la <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Sociedad Espa\u00f1ola de Medicina Interna<\/span><\/span> entre 2017 y 2020. En la actualidad es Presidente de la <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Federaci\u00f3n Europea de Medicina Interna<\/span><\/span>. Es Investigador Adscrito del <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">CIBER Fisiopatolog\u00eda de la Obesidad y Nutrici\u00f3n<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1145\" data-end=\"1430\">En a\u00f1adido, a nivel internacional, act\u00faa como representante experto nacional en las Acciones Conjuntas del Tercer Programa de Acci\u00f3n en Salud de la Direcci\u00f3n General Europea de Salud P\u00fablica y Consumidores, participando en iniciativas estrat\u00e9gicas de investigaci\u00f3n y salud p\u00fablica a nivel europeo.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1432\" data-end=\"1744\">Su producci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica incluye <strong data-start=\"1465\" data-end=\"1504\">m\u00e1s de 160 publicaciones originales<\/strong> en revistas de impacto. Participa en <strong data-start=\"1542\" data-end=\"1586\">13 proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n nacionales<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1589\" data-end=\"1610\">2 internacionales<\/strong>. Ha intervenido en <strong data-start=\"1630\" data-end=\"1668\">18 ensayos cl\u00ednicos multic\u00e9ntricos<\/strong> en diabetes, hiperlipemia y obesidad, siendo coordinador en cinco de ellos.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1746\" data-end=\"2133\">Cuenta adem\u00e1s con una intensa actividad de divulgaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica. Ha presentado <strong data-start=\"1827\" data-end=\"1856\">m\u00e1s de 200 comunicaciones<\/strong> en congresos regionales y nacionales y <strong data-start=\"1896\" data-end=\"1925\">m\u00e1s de 100 comunicaciones<\/strong> en congresos internacionales.
