Es Coordinador del Laboratorio de Neuropsicofarmacolog\u00eda de IBIMA e investigador del programa <strong data-start=\"627\" data-end=\"647\">Nicol\u00e1s Monardes<\/strong> desde 2014. Ha desarrollado una extensa trayectoria acad\u00e9mica y cient\u00edfica, siendo Profesor Titular de Universidad en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid durante m\u00e1s de 15 a\u00f1os.<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"1209\">As\u00ed, su investigaci\u00f3n se centra en los <strong data-start=\"862\" data-end=\"937\">mecanismos moleculares de las enfermedades neurol\u00f3gicas y psiqui\u00e1tricas<\/strong>, con especial \u00e9nfasis en adicciones, neuroinflamaci\u00f3n, deterioro cognitivo, envejecimiento y trastornos neuropsiqui\u00e1tricos. Es una figura de referencia internacional en el estudio del <strong data-start=\"1122\" data-end=\"1150\">sistema endocannabinoide<\/strong> y de nuevas dianas terap\u00e9uticas en neuropsicofarmacolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1211\" data-end=\"1694\">Tambi\u00e9n cuenta con una producci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica excepcional, con <strong data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1315\">m\u00e1s de 480 publicaciones cient\u00edficas indexadas<\/strong>, m\u00e1s de <strong data-start=\"1324\" data-end=\"1340\">18.600 citas<\/strong> y un <strong data-start=\"1346\" data-end=\"1364\">\u00edndice h de 69<\/strong> (Web of Science). Ha sido Investigador Principal en <strong data-start=\"1417\" data-end=\"1446\">84 proyectos competitivos<\/strong>, incluidos proyectos europeos. Adem\u00e1s del programa <strong data-start=\"1527\" data-end=\"1553\">Human Frontier Science<\/strong>, y la coordinaci\u00f3n de la <strong data-start=\"1579\" data-end=\"1635\">Red Nacional de Investigaci\u00f3n en Adicciones (RETICS)<\/strong> durante casi dos d\u00e9cadas. Es miembro de la red <strong data-start=\"1683\" data-end=\"1693\">RIAPAd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1696\" data-end=\"2060\">Adem\u00e1s, ha dirigido <strong data-start=\"1708\" data-end=\"1731\">26 tesis doctorales<\/strong> y cuenta con una intensa actividad en transferencia del conocimiento. Tambi\u00e9n es coinventor de <strong data-start=\"1819\" data-end=\"1856\">22 patentes o modelos de utilidad<\/strong> y cofundador de varias empresas biotecnol\u00f3gicas, entre ellas <strong data-start=\"1918\" data-end=\"1935\">VIVIA Biotech<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1937\" data-end=\"1958\">NOS Life Sciences<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1961\" data-end=\"1983\">Galea Therapeutics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2062\" data-end=\"2541\">En el \u00e1mbito institucional y cient\u00edfico, ha sido miembro del Comit\u00e9 Cient\u00edfico del <strong data-start=\"2145\" data-end=\"2204\">European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction<\/strong> y actualmente es miembro y Vicepresidente del Comit\u00e9 Cient\u00edfico de la <strong data-start=\"2275\" data-end=\"2310\">Agencia Europea del Medicamento<\/strong> en el \u00e1mbito de adicciones. Forma parte del Consejo Nacional sobre Drogodependencias en Espa\u00f1a.
