Anteriormente fue Director de la Unidad de Neurociencias del <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Hospital Universitario Torrec\u00e1rdenas<\/span><\/span>.<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"811\" data-end=\"1163\">Es Licenciado en Medicina por la <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Universidad de Granada<\/span><\/span> y especialista en Neurolog\u00eda v\u00eda MIR en el Hospital Virgen de las Nieves. Es Doctor en Medicina por la <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Universidad de Almer\u00eda<\/span><\/span>, con calificaci\u00f3n <strong data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1068\">Sobresaliente Cum Laude<\/strong>. Cuenta adem\u00e1s con formaci\u00f3n como Experto en Epidemiolog\u00eda por la Escuela Nacional de Sanidad.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1165\" data-end=\"1540\">Desde 2022 es <strong data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1234\">Vicedirector Cient\u00edfico de IBIMA Plataforma BIONAND<\/strong>. Es Investigador Principal y Coordinador de la <strong data-start=\"1282\" data-end=\"1365\">Red Andaluza de Investigaci\u00f3n Cl\u00ednica y Traslacional en Neurolog\u00eda (Neuro-RECA)<\/strong>, financiada por la Consejer\u00eda de Salud y Familias de la Junta de Andaluc\u00eda. Es adem\u00e1s Investigador Responsable del grupo de Neurolog\u00eda y Neuroinflamaci\u00f3n de IBIMA desde 2017.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1542\" data-end=\"1833\">Ha liderado <strong data-start=\"1554\" data-end=\"1590\">nueve proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n<\/strong> financiados por entidades p\u00fablicas y privadas y ha participado como colaborador en otros cinco. Participa en redes europeas de investigaci\u00f3n como <strong data-start=\"1737\" data-end=\"1792\">NEURO-MIG \u2013 European Network on Brain Malformations<\/strong> y las <strong data-start=\"1799\" data-end=\"1832\">COST Actions CA16118 e IS1405<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1835\" data-end=\"2079\">Es autor de <strong data-start=\"1847\" data-end=\"1885\">132 publicaciones indexadas en JCR<\/strong>, de las cuales 80 han sido lideradas. Ha publicado adem\u00e1s <strong data-start=\"1944\" data-end=\"1970\">40 obras no peri\u00f3dicas<\/strong>, incluyendo <strong data-start=\"1983\" data-end=\"2010\">ocho libros como editor<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2013\" data-end=\"2038\">32 cap\u00edtulos de libro<\/strong>. Su <strong data-start=\"2043\" data-end=\"2061\">\u00edndice h es 26<\/strong> (Google Scholar).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2081\" data-end=\"2471\">Ha sido co-coordinador de las tres ediciones de la <strong data-start=\"2132\" data-end=\"2162\">Gu\u00eda Andaluza de Epilepsia<\/strong> (2004, 2009 y 2015), incluida en el Repertorio de Gu\u00edas de Pr\u00e1ctica Cl\u00ednica del Sistema Nacional de Salud (Gu\u00edaSalud). En 2015 recibi\u00f3 el <strong data-start=\"2301\" data-end=\"2334\">Premio Cient\u00edfico \u201cEpilepsia\u201d<\/strong> de la Sociedad Espa\u00f1ola de Neurolog\u00eda. En 2022 fue galardonado con el <strong data-start=\"2405\" data-end=\"2470\">Premio de Investigaci\u00f3n de la Sociedad Andaluza de Neurolog\u00eda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2473\" data-end=\"2783\">Desde 2019 forma parte del <strong data-start=\"2500\" data-end=\"2559\">Comit\u00e9 Asesor de la Secretar\u00eda General de Investigaci\u00f3n<\/strong> de la Consejer\u00eda de Salud de la Junta de Andaluc\u00eda.
