Es m\u00e9dico especialista en Reumatolog\u00eda y Doctor en Medicina por la Universidad de M\u00e1laga.<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"887\" data-end=\"1364\">Su actividad investigadora se centra en la <strong data-start=\"930\" data-end=\"970\">investigaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica y traslacional<\/strong> de las enfermedades inflamatorias y autoinmunes sist\u00e9micas, especialmente <strong data-start=\"1045\" data-end=\"1068\">artritis reumatoide<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1070\" data-end=\"1101\">lupus eritematoso sist\u00e9mico<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1103\" data-end=\"1127\">esclerosis sist\u00e9mica<\/strong> y <strong data-start=\"1130\" data-end=\"1202\">enfermedad pulmonar intersticial asociada a enfermedades autoinmunes<\/strong>. Desarrolla l\u00edneas innovadoras en <strong data-start=\"1237\" data-end=\"1254\">biomarcadores<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1256\" data-end=\"1281\">microbiota intestinal<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1283\" data-end=\"1298\">epigen\u00e9tica<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1300\" data-end=\"1325\">riesgo cardiovascular<\/strong> y <strong data-start=\"1328\" data-end=\"1363\">respuesta a terapias biol\u00f3gicas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1366\" data-end=\"1747\">Cuenta con una producci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica de referencia internacional. Presenta un <strong data-start=\"1444\" data-end=\"1462\">\u00edndice h de 53<\/strong>, con m\u00e1s de <strong data-start=\"1475\" data-end=\"1491\">14.500 citas<\/strong> acumuladas. Es autor preferente en m\u00e1s del 50 % de sus publicaciones recientes y ha publicado de forma mayoritaria en revistas <strong data-start=\"1619\" data-end=\"1630\">D1 y Q1<\/strong>. Ha participado en la elaboraci\u00f3n de <strong data-start=\"1668\" data-end=\"1686\">gu\u00edas cl\u00ednicas<\/strong> y <strong data-start=\"1689\" data-end=\"1711\">cap\u00edtulos de libro<\/strong> de \u00e1mbito nacional e internacional.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1749\" data-end=\"2200\">Ha liderado numerosos <strong data-start=\"1771\" data-end=\"1797\">proyectos competitivos<\/strong> financiados por el Instituto de Salud Carlos III, el Servicio Andaluz de Salud, la Junta de Andaluc\u00eda y programas europeos. Es Investigador Principal en redes cooperativas de investigaci\u00f3n en enfermedades inflamatorias y responsable del <strong data-start=\"2035\" data-end=\"2059\">grupo PAIDI CTS-1034<\/strong>.
