Realiz\u00f3 estancias predoctorales en Alemania y Estados Unidos y una etapa postdoctoral como becario del <strong data-start=\"727\" data-end=\"734\">NIH<\/strong> en la <strong data-start=\"741\" data-end=\"782\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Medical University of South Carolina<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"785\" data-end=\"1121\">Desde su incorporaci\u00f3n a la Universidad de M\u00e1laga ha desarrollado una s\u00f3lida carrera acad\u00e9mica, siendo actualmente <strong data-start=\"900\" data-end=\"935\">Profesor Titular de Universidad<\/strong>, tras acreditaci\u00f3n ANECA. Es adem\u00e1s <strong data-start=\"972\" data-end=\"990\">L\u00edder de Grupo<\/strong> en el <strong data-start=\"997\" data-end=\"1038\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Centro Andaluz de Nanomedicina y Biotecnolog\u00eda<\/span><\/span><\/strong> y <strong data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1065\">Cient\u00edfico Visitante<\/strong> del <strong data-start=\"1070\" data-end=\"1111\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares<\/span><\/span><\/strong> (ISCIII).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1123\" data-end=\"1521\">Su investigaci\u00f3n se centra en los <strong data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1225\">mecanismos celulares y moleculares del desarrollo cardiovascular<\/strong> y su implicaci\u00f3n en la <strong data-start=\"1249\" data-end=\"1278\">enfermedad cardiovascular<\/strong>, integrando biolog\u00eda del desarrollo, biomedicina y enfoques traslacionales. Es autor o coautor de <strong data-start=\"1377\" data-end=\"1420\">m\u00e1s de 50 publicaciones internacionales<\/strong>, con una media de <strong data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1464\">44 citas por art\u00edculo<\/strong>, m\u00e1s de <strong data-start=\"1473\" data-end=\"1496\">2.500 citas totales<\/strong> y un <strong data-start=\"1502\" data-end=\"1520\">\u00edndice h de 27<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1523\" data-end=\"1869\">Ha sido <strong data-start=\"1531\" data-end=\"1585\">Investigador Principal en varios proyectos competitivos<\/strong> financiados por organismos nacionales e internacionales (Uni\u00f3n Europea, MINECO, MEC, ISCIII y OTAN), y ha participado como coinvestigador en otros proyectos financiados por el MEC, ISCIII y la Junta de Andaluc\u00eda. Cuenta con <strong data-start=\"1810\" data-end=\"1844\">tres sexenios de investigaci\u00f3n<\/strong> reconocidos por la ANEP.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1871\" data-end=\"2180\">Su trayectoria cient\u00edfica fue reconocida con el <strong data-start=\"1919\" data-end=\"1944\">Premio Tercer Milenio<\/strong> de la Junta de Andaluc\u00eda al mejor investigador del a\u00f1o. Ha impartido <strong data-start=\"2014\" data-end=\"2040\">conferencias invitadas<\/strong> en centros acad\u00e9micos y de investigaci\u00f3n de referencia internacional, incluyendo universidades y centros de Estados Unidos, Europa y Jap\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2575\" data-end=\"2977\">En el \u00e1mbito docente, imparte docencia en grados y m\u00e1steres de la Universidad de M\u00e1laga y otras universidades espa\u00f1olas. Es <strong data-start=\"2699\" data-end=\"2747\">Coordinador del M\u00e1ster en Biolog\u00eda Evolutiva<\/strong> de la Universidad de M\u00e1laga y profesor en programas de posgrado en biolog\u00eda celular, biomedicina molecular y terapias avanzadas.
