Es <strong data-start=\"412\" data-end=\"477\">Licenciado en Medicina y Cirug\u00eda por la Universidad de M\u00e1laga<\/strong>, con <strong data-start=\"483\" data-end=\"528\">Premio Extraordinario al Mejor Expediente<\/strong>, y <strong data-start=\"532\" data-end=\"562\">Doctor Europeo en Medicina<\/strong>, con <strong data-start=\"568\" data-end=\"594\">calificaci\u00f3n Cum Laude<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"596\" data-end=\"634\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado<\/strong> y <strong data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"673\">Premio a la Mejor Tesis Doctoral<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"676\" data-end=\"1056\">Desde 2018 es Profesor Titular del Departamento de Fisiolog\u00eda Humana, Histolog\u00eda Humana y Anatom\u00eda Patol\u00f3gica de la Universidad de M\u00e1laga. Ha desarrollado una intensa trayectoria investigadora en Neurociencia b\u00e1sica y traslacional. Cuenta con estancias predoctorales y postdoctorales prolongadas en el Karolinska Institutet (Suecia) y colaboraciones internacionales estables.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1058\" data-end=\"1518\">Su investigaci\u00f3n se centra en la recept\u00f3mica, las interacciones receptor-receptor (GPCR) y las redes de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n neuronal implicadas en enfermedades del sistema nervioso central, como depresi\u00f3n, ansiedad, enfermedad de Alzheimer, Parkinson, esquizofrenia y adicciones. Estudia el papel de neurotransmisores y neurop\u00e9ptidos como dopamina, serotonina, glutamato, adenosina, galanina, neurop\u00e9ptido Y y factores de crecimiento neuronal.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1520\" data-end=\"1933\">Cuenta con una producci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica s\u00f3lida, con publicaciones en revistas Q1, alto impacto y elevado n\u00famero de citas (\u00edndice h 25 en Scopus). Ha participado como investigador principal en proyectos competitivos auton\u00f3micos, nacionales y FEDER, as\u00ed como en ensayos cl\u00ednicos en Neurolog\u00eda como evaluador m\u00e9dico.
