Es <strong data-start=\"345\" data-end=\"384\">licenciado en Bioqu\u00edmica y Medicina<\/strong>, con <strong data-start=\"390\" data-end=\"424\">doctorado en Neurofarmacolog\u00eda<\/strong>, y una amplia trayectoria internacional en <strong data-start=\"468\" data-end=\"519\">neurociencia molecular y neuropsicofarmacolog\u00eda<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"522\" data-end=\"837\">Durante la carrera predoctoral, se centr\u00f3 en el estudio de las interacciones receptor-receptor en neuronas y c\u00e9lulas gliales. Entre otros, en complejos heterorreceptores GPCR-GPCR y GPCR-RTK. Tambi\u00e9n en su papel en enfermedades cerebrales como depresi\u00f3n, Parkinson, esquizofrenia y adicciones.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"1223\">Tambi\u00e9n destaca como pionero en el descubrimiento y caracterizaci\u00f3n de las interacciones alost\u00e9ricas entre receptores en el sistema nervioso central. De hecho, ha propuesto estos complejos como nuevas dianas terap\u00e9uticas. Sus investigaciones han contribuido a redefinir las bases moleculares del aprendizaje, la memoria y la neuropatolog\u00eda de los trastornos mentales y neurodegenerativos.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1589\">Es investigador principal y coinvestigador principal en varios proyectos competitivos internacionales y auton\u00f3micos. Algunos financiados por entidades como Hj\u00e4rnfonden, Karolinska Institutet, Stiftelsen Olle Engkvist Byggm\u00e4stare y la Junta de Andaluc\u00eda. Ha liderado l\u00edneas clave en depresi\u00f3n mayor, serotonina y complejos heterorreceptores.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1591\" data-end=\"1976\">Cuenta con una producci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica de alto impacto, con m\u00e1s de 160 publicaciones indexadas y m\u00e1s de 3.500 citas (Web of Science). Tambi\u00e9n a sido ponente invitado en m\u00e1s de 30 congresos internacionales.
