M.D. degree from the University of Malaga and specialized in Psychiatry from the University of Granada. IAssistant Professor and Chief of the Residents Program of Psychiatry at the Medical School at The University of Malaga. Currently, ex-Mentor in the Psychiatry Specialty Program in the Regional Hospital and currently the Coordinator of the Rehabilitation Unit of the Clinical Mental Health Management Unit. In addition, investigator at the Mental Health Research group and coordinator of the Neurosciences Area of the Biomedical Research Institute of Malaga (IBIMA). The main focus of research is to investigate the basic, clinical and epidemiological aspects of mental health. More specifically, we are investigating the genetic-environmental interactions in the field of mental illnesses and in the area of Social Psychiatry. We are currently developing new lines of research on psychological interventions and other internet-based applications in the field of depression and neurodegenerative diseases.

I have published over 90 peer-reviewed articles JCR indexed and several book chapters as well as participated as evaluator on several scientific journals and evaluation agencies at regional and national level
