The 7th Consortium Meeting of DIFAMEM project took place last 28th – 29th November 2022. This meeting, organized by Prof. Jean-Louis Gueant from the Medicine Faculty of the University of Lorraine, in Nancy (France), was the first face-to-face meeting since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Researchers from all partner organizations participated: INSERM U 954, University of Lorraine, in Nancy, France; Paul-Ehrlich-Institute (PEI), Germany; Hospital Regional de Málaga – IBIMA, Spain; Institute of Applicated Molecular Medicine (IMMA) – Universidad San Pablo CEU, Spain.
Those were two intensive workdays, in which a high range of results and outcomes from all working packages have been presented and discussed. Although some study and integrative results analyses are still missing, it can be concluded that dietary intervention produces beneficial results on the tolerance to vegetal aliment allergy, related to LTP. These results are observable both in allergic patients and experimental models. Furthermore, immunological studies of the different omics, microbiome, metabolomic and epigenomic provide important biomarkers which help to know the mechanism involved in this tolerance induction.
