The Biomedical Research Institute of Málaga (IBIMA) aims to recruit and retain the best professionals in order to produce quality translational biomedical research. These professionals carry out their work at the Regional University Hospital and the Virgen de la Victoria Hospital of Málaga along with Primary Care Centres, the Costa del Sol Hospital, and University of Málaga groups. IBIMA must continue its commitment to employing professionals that enrich all of its research areas. The Institute’s strong multidisciplinary nature makes it a space that generates talent, allowing for improvements in patients’ quality of life through translation of the results of research carried out by the more than 50 research groups at the Institute. Below are some of the key reasons why we want to have you on our team:
Key reasons to work at IBIMA:
Excellence in research.
IBIMA’s main priority is to support and increase research of excellence, competing alongside the best national and international centres. It is one of the 31 institutes accredited by the Carlos III Institute of Health and was awarded an official European HR Excellence in Research seal..
Research that is open to the world.
Our international presence is evident in the results of the different actions carried out within the Institute in order to ensure that the province of Málaga is one of the top places for research in the world, with numerous initiatives organised and coordinated from Málaga province.
City and surroundings.
IBIMA carries out its work in the province of Málaga, where more than 1.5 million people live. A third of these residents live in the capital city, where the Regional University Hospital of Málaga, the Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital, and the University of Málaga are located. The city shares the Institute’s values, with a strong commitment to opening itself up to the world, a forward-looking vision, and an appeal to tourists that attracts millions of visitors every year to both the city and province of Málaga. The city has a transportation network that includes an international airport which serves one of the highest volumes of passengers in Spain, a high-speed rail network that has been operating for more than a decade, and a seaport that receives more and more visits from large domestic and international cruise ships every year.
Commitment.
One of the keys to the success of our research is based on our commitment to the social and economic development of Málaga city and Málaga province. We promote improvements aimed at expanding and bettering the scope of action of the groups that belong to the Institute in order to provide answers that the population demands, thus improving citizens’ quality of life.
Teamwork.
In order to rise to these challenges, it is fundamental that IBIMA fosters a strong spirit of teamwork. To this end, the Institute carries out joint activities amongst members of research groups as well as amongst the different research areas so that together, all professionals can advance. These activities help build bridges that strengthen the translational nature of the research performed at IBIMA.
