Flow Cytometry

Description

Flow cytometry is a highly effective method for analyzing thousands of cells or other particles in mere minutes. Flow cytometers detect the fluorescence, size, and complexity of particles on which beams of visible and fluorescent light are shined. Using this method, statistically valid data can quickly be generated by counting a large number of particles, which would be extremely difficult using traditional microscopy.

Flow cytometers are very well established in hospitals for routine diagnostics and are now widely used for different types of research applications, from marine biology to stem cell research
