Clinical Trials Unit of Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital

The Clinical Trials Platform of Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital aims to promote and drive national and international observational studies and clinical trials at the center to generate knowledge and improve patient health.

The Coordinator of this Platform is the institutional representative of the Centre before the Clinical Units, the pharmaceutical industry and the CRO and reports functionally to the Managing Director of the institution.

Some of the Unit's most important equipment includes the FibroScan, a body composition analyser and a metabolic cart for measuring energy expenditure and respiratory rate.

Services

  • Technical and administrative support to promote and enhance the management and development of commercial clinical trials and observational studies
  • Encouraging research activity in Clinical Management Units (UGC), both in established and emerging units
  • Increasing the number of commercial, national, and international clinical trials
  • Resolving issues that hinder the conduct of clinical trials
  • Optimizing contract management and metrics/timelines
  • Managing the infrastructure of the Phase II/III clinical research area

Phase II/III Clinical Research Area

Newly created area, covering over 600 square meters, dedicated to phase II and III clinical research, featuring a total of ten examination rooms, a specially equipped room for blood extractions, a Day Hospital, and sample processing rooms
